8.0 Earthquake kills 450+ in Peru

A massive earthquake with a magnitude of 8.0 hit Peru Thursday and caused mass destruction.

The quake hit Ica in the southern desert of Peru and the nearby port of Pisco, 125 miles Southeast of the capital Lima.

So far at least 450 people are reported dead while 1500 are injured. The quake collapsed at least a fourth of the buildings in Ica.

Fifteen aftershocks occurred after the initial earthquake, some with a magnitude up to 6.3.

The earthquake also knocked out all the lights, water, and communication in the area.
